The latest offer from Chase on the IHG® Rewards Premier Credit Card delivers 175,000 bonus points for new cardmembers. This is the best-ever points offer on this card and can translate into lots of IHG stays.

Based on recent redemptions, AwardWallet members have received an average of 0.73¢ per point in value when redeeming IHG points. At that rate, this offer is worth more than $1,200 towards IHG stays!

IHG Rewards Premier Card Highlights

The IHG Rewards Premier Card comes with a great set of perks to justify its annual fee. These include:

  • IHG elite status: Complimentary IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status. Earn IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status after spending $40,000 on qualifying purchases each calendar year.
  • Free night: Anniversary free-night certificate valid at any IHG property — up to a value of 40,000 points per night. Use your free-night certificate for a hotel night that costs more than 40,000 points by redeeming IHG points from your account to make up the difference.
  • Spending bonuses: Earn 10,000 bonus points and a $100 statement credit after spending $20,000 on the card (and then making one additional purchase) each year.
  • Save on point purchases: 20% off IHG points purchases.
  • Fourth Night Free: Fourth night free on award stays as a cardmember perk.
  • United credits: $50 in United TravelBank credit each year after linking your card to United TravelBank.
  • Global Entry/TSA PreCheck: $100 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck application fee reimbursement every four years.

Even occasional travelers should be able to get more than $99 in value out of the IHG Rewards Premier Card each year. And with this new welcome bonus, now is a great time to consider picking up this card.

  • Earn 10X points from IHG® for being an IHG® Rewards Club Member (Being a cardholder is not required to earn this bonus for participating in the IHG® loyalty program)

While not as spectacular as the massive offer on the IHG Rewards Premier Card, the increased 120,000 bonus on the IHG Rewards Traveler Card matches the all-time high offer for this card and is an incredible offer when you factor in that the card charges no annual fee.

This offer requires spending an affordable $2,000 on the card within your first 3 months of account membership. Given the average value of IHG points is roughly 0.73¢ per point, this bonus is worth more than $850. That's unheard of for a card with no annual fee.

IHG Rewards Traveler Card Highlights

While the IHG Rewards Traveler Card doesn't receive the anniversary free night certificate offered by other IHG credit cards, cardholders still have access to some great perks. Highlights include:

Chase hasn't adjusted the bonus on the IHG Rewards Business Card card, but it's worth noting that this card is still offering 140,000 bonus points when you spend $3,000 on the card within the first three months of account membership.

Given the same point values mentioned earlier, new cardmembers can expect more than $1,000 in value from this signup bonus. The card charges a $99 annual fee, putting it right in the sweet spot for a mid-tier small business card.

IHG Rewards Business Card Highlights

In addition to the 140,000 signup bonus, the IHG Rewards Business Card comes loaded with high-value perks and benefits. Highlights include:

  • IHG elite status: Complimentary IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status. Earn IHG One Rewards Diamond Elite status after spending $40,000 on qualifying purchases each calendar year.

  • United credits: $50 in United TravelBank credits each year after linking your card to United TravelBank.
  • Global Entry/TSA PreCheck: $100 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck application fee reimbursement every four years.
  • Earning IHG points: Earn 10x points at IHG hotels; 5x points on travel and at gas stations, restaurants and dining, social media and search engine advertising, and at office supply stores; and 3x points per $1 spent on all other purchases.

If you take advantage of the IHG Rewards Business Card benefits, you can easily achieve more value than the $99 annual fee each year. And that's not considering the standout welcome offer worth more than $1,000.

Who’s Eligible for the Bonus Offers on the IHG Credit Cards?

If you already hold one of the IHG personal credit cards, you can no longer apply for a different IHG personal card. This is a relatively new restriction on the “IHG family” of consumer cards which include: The IHG® Rewards Select Credit Card (no longer accepting applications), the IHG Rewards Premier Card, and the IHG Rewards Traveler Card.

To become eligible for a different IHG personal card, you'll need to close your current IHG card. You must also wait at least 24 months from receiving a new card member bonus.

However, these restrictions apply only to the three consumer IHG cards. If you hold one of the consumer cards, there is no restriction on applying for the IHG Rewards Business Card card.

Like all Chase cards, the IHG credit cards are subject to Chase’s 5/24 policy. If you’ve opened five or more personal credit cards in the previous 24 months, you will not be approved for any of these cards.

Final Thoughts

These are some great bonus offers on the IHG credit cards, well worth putting on your radar if IHG Hotels look likely to feature in your award travel plans in the near future.

The points bonus on all three cards either matches or exceeds the previous all-time high bonus, so now is the perfect time to lock in a new IHG credit card

Will you be taking advantage of the increased offers on the IHG credit cards?
