No, pooling of Hilton Honors Points does not extend the expiration of any points. There are, however, many ways to keep your Hilton Honors points from expiring.
Points earned in the Hilton Honors program expire in an account with no eligible activity in a 12-month period. Hilton's website does not display when your points expire, which is why we recommend adding your Hilton Honors accounts to your AwardWallet profile; AwardWallet will calculate the expiration for you.

That’s too bad 🙁 Was hoping this would work. Need to keep my account active.
Thanks for the good info
Thanks for the reminder. Just realised some of our points are about to expire. We will probably just buy a 1000 points.
Make a quick purchase on Amazon using your points! Even easier.
I’m sure this is a common question about this relatively new and useful feature. Hope more programs would adopts pooling.
It’s really quite unbelievable that there is no expiry date for your points on their website. Of course I do have AwardWallet to track it but many people do not. It seems a bit underhanded to me. Does Hilton Honors email you with a warning that your points are about to expire?
One more question sorry..Does using your HH points for purchases on Amazon count as qualifying activity? I have A LOT of HH points so I really need the activity ASAP. I’ll buy 1k miles for $10 if I have to but would rather do anything else just about.
Based on reader feedback, yes, it does. If you read the article linked in the first paragraph on Hilton Honors points expiring you’ll see that Amazon.com counts: https://awardwallet.com/blog/do-hilton-honors-points-expire/
Hmm, I don’t really want to take out a HH CC. Any other way of getting qualifying activity? Thanks!
Yes, in the first sentence of this article we link to an article that covers all the different ways to generate qualifying activity: https://awardwallet.com/blog/do-hilton-honors-points-expire/
I am always looking for work arounds to achieve qualifying activity without actually staying or flying. I wish this counted! I stopped travelling as much for work and I really need some activity on my Hilton account. Any recommendations? That would be amazing if you could get points for commenting on Award Wallet like with AA! Any chance you guys will partner up with a hotel chain?
Just gotta spend on a credit card to keep Hilton status! We’d love to partner with Hilton, but haven’t made it happen yet.
yeah I wonder why Hilton doesn’t show an expiration on their website. It drove me nuts BAW (before awardwallet) trying to find when my points would expire. I would calc it manually and give up and make sure I had some sort of activity. Sheesh you’d think they’d have this as a courtesy to their customers.
I just closed my Citi Hilton tonight, last spend was in June. I’ll link my Hyatt and one of my Ink’s to the Dining program.
Of course a new Amex Hilton will make it a moot point!
I didn’t even know you can pool Hilton points! Thanks for this write up!
Thanks for the clarification.
Cool. Thanks for pointing out another pooling option.
emiles works too
Erewards works though I believe!
Cool thanks for the reminder.
Love the small, straight to the point articles.
THANKS!
Good to know as my spouse and I are pooling points !
Thanks for the info!
“No, pooling of Hilton Honors Points does not extend the expiration of any points.” Boo, hiss!! This would have been quite a boon to us if the answer had been “yes”.
So you just need to keep one family member’s HH account active …
As long as you don’t hit pooling limits, correct.
I always keep track of my last time points posted to my Hilton Honors account. Don’ t let it go past 11 months.
I think Hilton is on a 24 month expiration cycle, isn’t it?
It is a 12 month expiration.
Always appreciate these super simple articles (I mean, I wouldn’t mind it being in the headline, but I guess you guys need the clicks)
If you happen to subscribe via RSS https://awardwallet.com/blog/feed/ or browse the blog, you should be able to pick up the answer through the except without having to click!
I believe this is the same for most programs where pooling points isn’t considered qualifying activity.
Thank you for this information. I had thought that any activity would extend the points expiration date.
Same here – thought pooling would help….But this makes the Info even more important!
