This Hilton Points Purchase promotion has ended, however, you can still purchase Hilton points.

Hilton has announced its first points purchase promo for 2018, and you'll receive an 80% bonus for points purchases, or a 100% bonus if you hold a Hilton Honors co-branded American Express card.

Hilton Honors Purchase Points through March 16 2018 Credit 80 Percent Bonus

Key Terms

  • Promo valid through 11:59 ET March 16, 2018
  • Maximum 80,000 points can be purchased per year
  • Points will post within 24 hours
  • Purchased points do not count towards Elite tier qualification

Purchasing the maximum number of points (80,000) will give you a bonus of 64,000 or 80,000 additional points and will set you back $800. This yields a price per point of 0.556¢ or .5¢, which while not earth-shattering could provide a solid value if you're able to leverage some award sweet spots. One thing to remember is that the purchase is processed by Points.com, so it is not possible to benefit from any category bonuses when purchasing with a credit card, so be sure to use a credit card that maximizes your everyday spending.

Our Take

While an 80% bonus is nice, it is by no means the best offer we've seen from Hilton. If you're eligible for the 100% bonus, you're much better off, and frankly, we've seen 100% bonus opportunities before. We'd suggest waiting for one of them to pop up again.
