Avianca LifeMiles is out with its latest unique promotions, this time offering two-for-one award tickets to select destinations and a 20% mileage rebate on flights to Europe. The list of terms on both promotions are a mile long, and the promotions themselves are sort of quirky. However, it's worth a look if you want to get a lot of value out of your LifeMiles for travel on Avianca in fall 2024.
But you'll want to act fast. You have until July 4, 2024, to make your reservations. Let's dive into the details of these Avianca LifeMiles promotions.
Avianca Two-for-One Award Sale Promotion Details
Two-for-one sales? Good. Two-for-one award flight sales that you can take advantage of a few times over? Even better.
For every two award tickets you purchase with Avianca LifeMiles now through July 4, you'll see the miles from the second ticket refunded no later than 15 days after the reservation is flown. That means you're going to need the miles for both awards, but you'll get the LifeMiles refunded for the second person.
The promotion applies for a maximum redemption of eight tickets per LifeMiles account, so it's hard not to see the potential value of this promotion if you've got potential travel plans on Avianca. But there's a catch. The offer is only valid on select routes.
Eligible routes
Here's a look at the routes included in this BOGO promotion:

Limited destinations and a short travel window (September 1 through October 31, 2024) may make this promotion sort of niche. However, if you and a plus one want to visit South America this fall, this promotion offers an easy way to get there for less.
For example, you could fly two people from New York (JFK) to Guatemala (GUA) for 21,620 miles round-trip per person. After your travels, you'll get the price of one of those tickets back. That's not a terrible return.
Two-for-one key terms
The terms of Avianca's award sale are very dense, and there are a few key lines you'll want to be aware of, such as:
- For every two awards tickets redeemed for flights on Avianca, you'll receive a rebate of the total amount of miles used for one.
- If you redeem miles for three tickets, you'll get the miles back for one ticket. If you redeem for four tickets, you'll get the miles back for two tickets.
- The offer is valid for redemptions on select routes made by July 4, 2024 (23:59 GMT -6).
- The promotion applies to flights made between September 1 and October 31, 2024.
- The offer applies to one-way and round-trip flights, but all travel must fall in the range of eligible dates.
- Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights and dates.
- Codeshare flights and flights on partner airlines are not eligible.
- Stopovers are not allowed.

Avianca 20% Rebate on Flights to Europe
You might be surprised to learn that Avianca flies to Europe. In fact, you can fly across the Atlantic to London (LHR), Paris (CDG), Madrid (MAD), and Barcelona (BCN) from three of its hubs: Bogota (BOG), Medellin (MDE), and San Salvador (SAL). And if you book an Avianca flight to Europe with LifeMiles by July 4, you can get a 20% rebate on the miles you redeem.
For example, a round-trip ticket from Bogota (BOG) to London (LHR) will generally cost 59,500 LifeMiles plus $256 in taxes and fees. After the rebate, you'll pay 47,600 miles (plus the taxes) for your round-trip economy ticket.
