This Hilton Points Purchase promotion has ended, however, you can still purchase Hilton points.

Hot on the heels of Daily Getaways sold out Hilton Honors points offering, Hilton has released a deal allowing you to purchase Honors points for the same price of 0.5 cents per point by adding a 100% bonus on points purchased.

The offer is valid for purchases made between April 21, 2016, at 12:01 am ET and June 3, 2016, at 11:59 pm ET and you must register through the purchase page on the Hilton Honors website.

Hilton allows you to buy up to 80,000 points a year through the Honors program so with the 100% bonus you can buy 160,000 points for US$800.

Is It Worth Buying Honors Points At Half Price?

This deal will not be for everyone. Most of the analysis on Honors points across the web places them around 0.4/0.5 cents per point, so you are purchasing points at virtually face value.

That being said, there are some great deals on points if you are ready to shop around. The key here is only to purchase points if you have the intention to use them. If you have travel plans in place, get your calculator out and start checking if you can get a better deal buying points.

The Conrad Koh Samui, Thailand, for example. You could book at 80,000 points per night and save almost $300 or 40% off the cash price of the room.

At the opposite end of the scale is the Hilton Garden Inn Fuzhou Cangshan in China. At $70 a night, it's not wallet destroying material but at 5000 points purchased at 0.5 cents, it will only cost $25. Add to that the elite status bonus of staying five nights and getting the 5th night free, and that is savings of over 70%.

Admittedly this is at the far end of the scale, but it shows you that there are deals out there.

If half price Honors points interests you but you are not an Honors elite, bear in mind that Hilton is status matching right through to March 2018, so if you have elite status anywhere else you can use this to pull Honors status.

This offer has expired.
