Lately, it feels like there's been a lot of bad news — loyalty program devaluations, increases in annual fees, and benefits being removed left and right. These updates make the good news shine even brighter.
Qatar Airways has just launched monthly award sales, allowing Privilege Club members to take up to 25% off flights to select destinations in both business and economy. This is fantastic news for anyone who has been eyeing Qatar Qsuites for a comfortable way to reach their next destination.
Although there aren't any U.S. destinations on the list for the first edition, we're hopeful they will appear in the future. Here's what to know about Qatar's monthly special offers with Avios and the destinations currently on sale.
Qatar Monthly Special Offers With Avios
Qatar Airways has surprise launched monthly special offers with Avios. These are a handful of special offers on award flights departing from Doha (DOH) in both business and economy.
For the first round of sales, you can book by August 14, 2026, and travel by September 30, 2026. Considering there aren't any U.S. cities on sale, these might be relatively challenging for U.S.-based travelers to take advantage of. The eligible travel window is short, so you'd need to take a last-minute trip, but the savings can be worth it.
Plenty of other airlines offer regular award sales. Air France-KLM Flying Blue releases monthly promo rewards, and Lufthansa offers regular mileage bargains. Other airlines, like Delta or Avianca, release regular award sales, even if they aren't on a monthly cadence. If you're lucky enough to snag an award ticket on sale, you can stretch your miles even farther.
You can make unlimited bookings during the award sale, with up to nine passengers per booking. Note that only Qatar-operated flights qualify for the sale. Flights operated by Oneworld or partner airlines are excluded. Similarly, not every flight on a route will qualify. Flights that do qualify will be noted with a redemption discount.
You can change or cancel flights booked with a redemption discount up to three hours before departure, but fees may apply. If you change to a date that doesn't offer a redemption discount, you will be charged the standard Avios amount. This promotion cannot be combined with any other promotions.
Eligible destinations
Here's a round-up of the eligible destinations for this month's special offers with Avios. If you're interested in booking, be sure to check which aircraft will operate your flight. Not every Qatar aircraft offers Qsuites — some offer a standard business class instead. Meanwhile, one configuration of the Boeing 777-300ER even offers a first class cabin.
Take up to 25% off business class flights from Doha (DOH) to the following destinations:
- Riyadh (RUH) from 15,750 Avios
- Cairo (CAI) from 19,500 Avios
- Colombo (CMB) from 26,250 Avios
- Berlin (BER) from 32,350 Avios
- Warsaw (WAW) from 32,350 Avios
- Jakarta (CGK) from 45,000 Avios
This award sale is especially notable because much of the eligible period is during peak travel dates. Even so, the sale appears to take 25% off the standard rates for off-peak dates.
For instance, a peak business class award flight from Doha to Berlin costs 86,000 Avios, while an off-peak award costs 43,000 Avios. As you can see in the screenshot below, one flight is on sale, while another on the same day isn't. The sale price is just 32,250 Avios, which is 25% off the off-peak price. However, considering the other flight option is 86,000 Avios, it feels more like a 63% discount.
Take up to 25% off economy class flights from Doha (DOH) to the following destinations:
- Riyadh (RUH) from 5,250 Avios
- Amman (AMM) from 9,750 Avios
- Larnaca (LCA) from 13,125 Avios
- Munich (MUC) from 16,125 Avios
- Geneva (GVA) from 16,125 Avios
In our searches, there was almost daily availability for flights from Doha to each of these destinations. However, if you're flying from any of these destinations to Doha, availability's much more limited.
Also, it seems that you won't get the sale rate if you search for a flight between two on-sale destinations with a layover in Doha. For instance, if you want to fly from Berlin to Jakarta with a layover in Doha, you'll pay 160,000 Avios in business class. If you booked the two flights separately, you'll pay the sale price of just 77,350 Avios.

How To Earn Avios
If you don't have enough Avios in your account to book one of these tickets, you aren't out of luck. Several transferable point currencies transfer to Qatar Airways, including American Express Membership Rewards, Capital One miles, Citi ThankYou® Points, Bilt Points, and Rove Miles:
Plus, you can freely move Avios between all of the Avios-earning programs, including the British Airways Club and Iberia Club. Wells Fargo Rewards and Chase Ultimate Rewards both transfer to British Airways, which can then be moved to Qatar.
That means virtually any credit card that earns transferable rewards can be used to book a Qatar award flight.

Bottom Line
Qatar's monthly special offers with Avios are a fantastic way to stretch your rewards as far as possible. Spending just 32,250 Avios to spend six hours in Qatar business class is certainly a worthy investment. If you're interested in taking advantage, make sure to book by August 14, 2026, for travel by September 30.
